    Hi Stephen
Not sure I replied to the right place. I sail and race RC Yachts. Looking at the pictures canโ€™t see how the sails are controlled. But it looks like you have a few other problems.
Does the main boom and the line controlling it clear the hand rails?
With the shape of main sail just above the boom itโ€™s not going to sail to windward unless you can reduce the the curve at the bottom to about 20 to 30 mm in the middle of the boom. Similar on the jib probably a bit less canโ€™t tell scale from picture. Check if you can achieve that before investing in servos and winches. I agree with the others your best bet is to take it to a club where they can explain things better than a few words here. If you want to learn to sail have a look at the Joysway DragonForce 65 you can check on The MYA website for local clubs.
These are just my suggestions for starters
    Good luck

    Hi Stephen R1,
Here would be another link to plans, cost, but are excellent.
A club colleague once bought there.

He had obtained them cheaply as a PDF and had them copied here to his scale by a planning company!

There aren't as many clubs as there used to be, but I did find one on the MPBA website in Aylesbury https://www.watermeadmodelboat.club which doesn't look too far from Chesham. I might visit there myself sometime as my daughter lives in Wendover.

Stephen - where in the UK are you? I think your best bet would be to make contact with a local club. I am sure they would help you get your boat on the water. Much easier to show you how to get it ready to float than to describe.

Hi, Looks like you have the servo in there as I can see the arm. Did you get the controler with the boat. This is the bit you use to 'drive' the boat? One end of the servo needs to connect to the top of the rudder quadrant and as the servo move clockwies or anti-clockwise it will turn the rudder accordingly. If you google on Youtube, fitting a rudder and RC servo to a model yacht I am sure something will come up. If I was at home I would photo the set up in my yacht which is an Electron RC yachts. I am in Fiji on holiday until 8th December but if you google above you will see the sort of RC yacht it is. Cheers Ian

Whilst I have not seen this boat before I can say that RC sailing is a great hobby. Whilst I build scale model ships as hobby I sail with a group on Mondays which I find relaxing. The best advice I can give you is to ensure the boat is absolutely watertight. I have made a series of videos on the way I prepared my boat to make it watertight and in 3 years I have not had an issue.

    Hello,

I am totaly new to the world of RC and in particular sailboats, but having watched some guys racing in the New Forest, i decided to try to get involved.
Therefore i purchased an old boat on Ebay that needs a bit of TLC but i really could do with a build / maintainance manual to see how to put it together.
So i have a HobbyEngine Killer Whales sailboat but can find next to nothing about hobbyengine and nothing about the Killer Whale sailboat. Does anybody out there have a manual or photographes of the internals of one?
Also i have at least a part missing that controls the double rudder, can anyone send me a pic of what i need or know a part for it. I am guessing it is not straight because it need to move side to side?

Any help will be gratefully received

    Stephen
