Shapeways

jumpugly piqued my interest in Hellenic Ship Models and so I ordered a set of guns and, well, I am very pleased with what arrived in the mail today after less than two weeks from ordering: all of this for less than US$100, well packed, nicely printed and registered Canada Post (no TARIFFS!!) LOL:

Steve,
You might want to inquire and see if they are 3D printing or injection molding these parts. If it is3D printing, they likely will be able to adjust the scale from 1/32 to 1/40. (I know I can do this with my software and create the STL files the printer needs.) Only restriction is if there are any parts that might wind up too thin or small to print. Sometimes that can easily be fixed. Going from a printable 1/32 scale to a 1/40 scale model is not a real big difference.

Shapeways

Hi Tim

The original armourment was a single bow mounted 40 mm Bofors gun and a twin 20 mm Oerlikon cannon aft. These along with 4 deck mounted torpedos.

There is a lot of deck detail in the Slec kit with lockers mounts etc..

Shapeways

Hi Steve,
Just out of interest what would the Perkasa had as deck guns? Also what other small deck fittings would it have had?
Best wishes Tim

Shapeways

Hi, I finished my Slec Perkasa last year, I used the fittings in the kit and added a bit more detail to the guns.
I did look on the Shapeways website but found the price of the 3D parts excessive.

Thanks Neil

Battlecrafts look superb, but unfortunately the Slec Perkasa is at an odd scale of 1:40 ☹️

Morning all

I am building the 31 inch Perkasa from Slec in the UK and know that in the past Shapeways sold 3D printed deck guns etc... Does anyone know if any other companies produce these since Shapeways closed down?

Any direction would be greatly welcomed
