Our favorite local band plays that song as a regular part of their set. When they get to the "Motorboatin" line, the lead singer gives me a look and a smile. I am pretty sure he is implying that I participate in a more lewd version of "Motorboatin" than the song lyric refers to. I have no idea why he thinks that ..... 🙄

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Doug was in fact right - I was referring to submariners but judging by the replies I think there must be a lot of alcoholics on this board LOL
Nice to hear about the model builders - anyone built either a British R or V class boat (the bombers) ? All submarines are boats in the RN.

In Naval terms it is a nickname for Submariners😉
Which I'm sure is what Pat is referring to here.
It's also the nickname of many Softball teams, Lord knows why!

My father had Vascular Dementia the last several years of his life. He definitely was affected by the Sundowner effects mentioned by Ronald.
I, on the other hand, rather enjoy my evening "Sundowners" as described by peterd. I substitute a ride on my pontoon for the balcony though.
