Nick,
All three of the grandkids are great swimmers. They all are on a swim team, and compete at swim meets regionally.
But, it is a rule that they wear personal flotation devices whenever they are doing anything but swimming when at the lake.
It's great to see them enjoying the new "toy" I built.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
OK, so not exactly a "Model Boat" ... the scale is 1:1
My grandkids wanted something better than the 8' X 8' swim raft that I had.
So ..... I have taken a 22' Pontoon boat and stripped it down to the deck.
I added a bench and table (with 3 optional table leg pocket locations around the deck).
A water slide and LED "underlights" powered by a 12V deep cycle battery on a solar charge panel.
The lights are on a dusk-to-dawn photoelectric switch, the water slide uses an RV water pump.
I gave it 2 ladders but there are 4 sets of ladder mounts, so the ladders can easily be moved to any side.
I gave serious thought to adding a diving board, but I have liability reservations, so I held off on that.
I finally got it in the water this past weekend. So far, it seems to be a hit!
