I just couldn’t find the right words to make it rhyme. I did see 3 sailboats come sailing in though when I took the Skiff “ David”, the Sloop “Emily” and the Wianno Senior “ Catharine” sailing during our weekend camping trip.

Friday was a testing day for the skiff in its Orange and White sails. The sloop, ine Pink and White sailing on a rather sporadic protected swimming beach. The Wianno Senior with the Red n White sails.

Sunday was an all day sailing day in more open waters beyond the swimming protection of the ropes (First set of 8 photos)


I quickly realized that while the skiff was able to sail nicely in a light breeze, a sudden gust of wind would potentially swamp its open hull. I was able to get it back to shore without incident but for awhile there I was scared!

The Sloop Emma is a fine sailing model which will be even better with a bit more ballast and a slightly larger rudder if needed. Ballast first, test it, then add rudder area.

The Wianno Senior proofed itself very seaworthy sporting the new Red main I had recently sewn.
