Sorry Nigel, we don't allow ic powered boats as there are wildfowl on our lake, we do fast electric, yachts and scale, we also allow steam power, if you have a current boiler certificate.
If you are just getting into model boating, may I suggest you come on a Sunday to our club, there you will be able to ask any questions you might have, and we're a friendly bunch, Sunday sailing 9:00 till 1:00.
