Hi Roycv, She hasn’t as such, a bit heath robinson really just a lump of lead screwed to the keel as a stop gap while tweaking to make her sailable. But worked that well it’s got left. Not pretty but you can’t see it while sailing. It’s 200 mm x 30 mm x 15mm. Never weighed it but can when home. I’m in Whitby at moment in tourer for a few days.

Hi Ronald this may help I found a copy on the web,

Hi I bought a very part built Graupner Norderney fishing boat with a drop down fin. Quite small considering sail area.

I slightly thickened the fin with sheet lead (flashing) but put a lot of internal ballast inside the boat. spread wide.
The small fin does give a lot of lee way when tacking into wind and close running. But the yacht stays surprisingly upright.

Graupner recommendations were not to sail the boat with the staysail but my one is fully rigged and sails well.

Another noticeable thing is with other yachts and I have several, that with a deep keel there is a sort of pendulam effect with the weight at the low end and the sail above pivoting around the hull.

With internal ballast she looks more 'in the water' than might otherwise be.
