Before and after..

Looking good! I think scale sail boats are great. The Down side (here in Florida) is the wind. Either too much or not enough putting them in "chains". Mine does well on the shelf.

The open sailing brown boat. What’s the measurements of it? Does it use a weighted removable centreboard?

My skiff is 30” and uses an attached swing board which is trimmed according to the conditions.

I have not sunk it yet, or taken any water over the gunnels. Though it did get scary when I had it out on a lake when a gust hit it! After that close call, I brought it in to shore and sailed a couple other sailboats that day.

Here is the lake I was sailing my models last summer. That’s my son in his kayak beside my Emily sailboat.

Before..and after..

So, my Dad made the ‘Clinker’ built brown boat when he was 14 in about 1936. It can capsize and sink if it’s windy, and I’ve had to retrieve it many times from Davyhulme Park pond Manchester UK when I was a boy. The big yacht was in a bit of a mess when I bought it 20 yrs ago. They have both been re rigged, varnished, painted, and the big yacht fitted with new portholes and ‘finery’ both should be good to go for the next 90 years or so!
