You are talking about a very small industry which does not, in any way, have the sort of 'Royalties' income which a music star might have.

If a company is deceased then the use of any plan is generally open game. The latest kit plans also do not bear much resemblance to the hand drawn and printed images of the 1950's and 60's.

I produced the Kitshack range of models, loosely based on some early kits, but with modern techniques and changes to improve design, the drawings do not compare to the originals in many ways.

Copyright infringement is hard to challenge, as just one change to the model design will change the copyright issue. if we followed on design intent, even Vosper could challenge when a model is made of one of their boats.

I am not not not trying to incite un lawfull actively on this site or any another site or in anything in life. I was just debeating if any one has a plan of a swordsman or huntsman and if the plans should be now free. Re CDs and music _ films and art I think the copyright is 70 years now cliff Richards royalties where in danger. So selling film and music is wrong. design I think is 25 years that is why the kit car movement make replica cars.technically the copyright of any design belongs to the full size designer so when we make a model we technically go against copyright.so a lot of kit and plans also break copyright. Some ful size companies
licence there design to model companies if it is a new model ( lotus) I will try to contact a friend who is a top rc aircarft designer on the copyright issue and try to be back to you. I am again trying not to encourage illegal activity just debating.

A company is producing aerokits so I expect they own the rights to the drawings.

The fact that some plans are around and being sold does not mean they are out of copyright.

pirate copies of dvds are around does that mean the original dvd is out of copyright?

You do as you wish I am not your keeper but please do not use a forum like this to incite a possible unlawfull act.

Some one is still copying and selling on eBay. And keil kraft _ veron are on outerzone. I think it is 25 years for the design apart from the company name. Anyway there are loads of ripoff plans of aircraft out there and no body has been done.

it can be argued that the copyright on drawings runs for 70 years.

My Aerokits original plans (sorry none for the Swordsman or Huntsman) are all about 2' x 4' so to copy you need to go to a printing firm. The last I had copied for my own use cost about £20 as they have a minimum charge. Uploading would be a big file so it's not surprising they are not freely available and copyright issues would need to be investigated.

Aerokits are owned so take care someone copying a plan potentially could lead to copyright problems.

HI all I am looking for free plans for a swordsman or a huntsman boat aerokits veron ect? I do not want to buy off eBay has I had a fireboat from eBay and it was rubbish. There must be some one out there who can download one please. There are loads of aircraft plans out there but not many boats l think the aerokits veron plans should now be freely available like the old keil kraft plans are now. To stop sharks on eBay supplying poor plans at more than £ 15.
