Back in the 1980's I fell into the water.
Off the W.O.Decker the first tug.
I worked on during my apprenticeship anyway.
During a snow storm was just in for what seemed forever.
About 3 minutes that was too cold for me.....

Taken on Sunday, but nearly all gone now, the lake has risen by about 10" since last Thursday. Just when we were hoping it was going down to correct level. it's just over a metre above normal. Levels can rise rapidly here but take years to drop.At 7am this morning when I took dog for walk round lake there were about 70 S.A.S. squadies doing their water training. Stripped to pants and kit in plastic bags with guns on top swimming a full circuit. While instructor cruised around in r.i.b. water temperature was 2 degrees above freezing.
This happens about once a month from October to April.
Oh what its like to be young and fit, I'm not either.

Pleased to say our snow and ice has gone at last, we had a peak of 15°C today and 20°C is expected on Sunday, St Patrick's Day! The luck of the Irish!? 😉
