Having trouble communicating due to not using usual equipment and not being at home most of the time.........

Did try last night on a tablet but lost all I had typed! I am having to work with just one screen and not used to that.

Evenin' Neville, yeah, that colour pic will make a good poster in A3👍
But print it on a decent gloss photo paper with minimum 300dpi cos you'll be able to see much more detail than with normal copy paper.
Now I'm on tenterhooks waiting for the 'unexpected extra'!

Thanks all. That is what I will do when it comes to it.
I will print off the A3 in colour now as it looks so good!

Exactamente! 👍 The colour pic in A3 if possible!

By printing those photos on A4 you can use dividers and a calculator to determine the ratio between the photo scale and your model. You can then use that info to transfer the line location to your model.

Do not have plans or a laser, but I take the point about allowing for the load re batteries ect.
Only just starting with filler primer so have a little time yet to get the bits.

If you have access to the drawings, then measure in several places, level on the bench according to your marks and then run a pencil mark around the hull. Then you have a continuous line to align the tape with.
Depending on the hull build, you might have to measure down from the deck (My dad added .75" to the depth of hull to gain displacement for batteries etc.) This led me to measure from the deck line.
Once model is in the water, shift ballast around until it is level with the line.

I get the boat absolutely level and, using a laser level, mark the plimsol line on hull.
After checking,
join the marks up
using Tamiya masking tape
