Decent printers are still a bit expensive for home use, and the technology is advancing - I'll wait until it slows down and becomes cheap...

For early warning of possible modelling disturbance, I use these things https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-Motion-Sensor-Doorbelll-Chime-Detector-Entry-Alarm-Alert-With-2-Sensors/143236146237?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D59227%26meid%3D8708e097eed3447dad1a775dd19293a0%26pid%3D100008%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D352280192113%26itm%3D143236146237%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100008.m2219

Very useful when you're in the workshop and the postman calls...

DG - sorry - not picking on you - assumed you had a printer. Trouble is with favours is the time taken - only when favours are owed can you put pressure on..........

Martin - If better half catches me at it during the day - first thing said is have you finished that job for so & so ..........Even more beady since me having to get TNT pills from the body mechanic. She is away at this moment of course - can hear her coming up the driveway (no camera) on return which hopefully gives time to shut down the internet PC .............

I'm doing my best Admiral.
As you know due to my temporary medical problem I am not supposed to be doing anything.
I am doing this build log as I go along.
As you know I have been caught working in my little workshop before by my wife ( not a pretty sight specially if you're squeamish)
At the moment I have to wait until my wife goes out.
I have now rigged up my little go pro camera so that I can see when she comes back home it then gives me enough time to shuffle back to my chair in the living room and pretend that I have been there all the time.

There just ain't no pleasing some folks Red 🤔
Stick with us, you'll get a fair exchange of ideas here.
If we like it we like it👍, if we think there might be a kink somewhere we'll say so, but try to offer a positive suggestion. "So far so good ... but have you thought of ...."

Glad you feel at home here Martin 👍
get a shift on with Evolution please - not many of us have got 4 billion years left to wait for the end stage 😁😂

"...DG if you have a 3d printer you must have the design software for it too - otherwise its useless ..."

I said I 'can get one printed'. Dodgy Geezers can call in favours from all sorts of places! And not only plastic deposition machines either - stereo lithography or selective laser sintering (if you want to 3-D print in tungsten) would be available through university contacts. As would design modification...Though, given how long it took me to get a pair of rather specialist gears lapped the last time I wanted a set, I would match RN's comment in saying that I wouldn't hold my breath!

DG if you have a 3d printer you must have the design software for it too - otherwise its useless - unless you are only ever going to make other peoples designs - very easy to add stuff & modify designs if you know how - friend has one - manipulates its faster than I do Corel - but its purely commercial for him - so no freebies . unfortunately ...........

a fee is required for some of the water jets - but not yours. I suppose you could add another bearing. I've downloaded it and can get one printed, but I'll wait until I've seen the ebay ones...

That is typical you try to help some people and all you get is a kick in the teeth.
At least you don't get that problem on this site.

Posted the same on another forum = all I got was complaints that a "fee" is required and "my"design is not good as it only has one bearing - not mine at all - simply wanted to help - wont make the same mistake again . NB no one said anything about it not having a weed grid..........
