Hi Bill,
So you got one of the oldie Targets, like mine 👍
Later models dispensed with the centre Paxolin separator, so the field coil was wound as one.
Cheers, Doug 😎

Hi Martin,
Shame you didn't move my posts with the links to my Taycol restoration / conversions as well.
So folks would know what this is all about.
Attached pics of Colin's Taycol Supermarine both before and after my TLC 😉
4th pic shows the motor soaking in WD40, overnight, before dismantling started.
Last pic shows the setup that I used to test the restored motor (fitted with ball races inside the old end covers😉) and Reverser conversion board.
Video of the Test Runs won't upload I'm afraid, too large.
Shame 🤔 coz it clearly shows how the diode bridge in the converter board virtually eliminated the usual prolific Taycol sparking.
Cheers, Doug 😎

Ahhhh.
The ever faithful Taycol.
I bought my Taycol Target as a boy more years ago than I care to remember.
Although not in current service it it fully serviceable and sits in its original box.
A little gem of British engineering.
Regards Bill.
Never give up.It will come right in the end.

Hi Doug,
I moved this to this thread as i don't want to hijack another members thread.

RE :- Colin's Taycol Supermarine restoration.

Great job.
The satisfaction of getting hold of something old and tatty and not working then when completed it looks like new and works perfectly.

I remember the days when you could actually repair things and they were made to last.
Now it is repair by replacement.
