Glasses

Hi Pete,Red Reading your posts is most reassuring and not having to wear glasses other than for reading will be a big change. Will be awhile as covid has postponed many surgery's. But getting in line now means I will be among the first when we open up more. I've been wearing glasses so long now what's a little while more.

Glasses

I, like you Rick, wore glasses for 60+ years then was told 2016 that I had cataracts and needed them seeing to, wasn't to keen on NHS (National Health Service) heard of some bad experiences, so decided to go private, the surgeon said before the op, after this you'll think you have a new TV, well, certainly colours appear much brighter, I don't need to wear glasses anymore, but need them for reading so I bought a pair of vari-focal glasses from the optician, and had auto tint put on, so the are fine in sunny weather, when we get some, but after so long wearing glasses, it feels strange now without them, even after 5 years, I still put them on to go shopping and other things.😊

Cheers, Pete

Glasses

Have had the best eyesight of my life for the last 8 years after a bi lateral cataract op (over 4 days ) - only drawback is I had micro vision before - now need reading glasses - but at least its readers you can buy at a shop - no need for the expense of an optician. Great to be shot of glasses for driving etc - but now use sunglasses instead as the sun is extremely bright here. Far less expensive than the previous glasses that darkened with bright light
Daughter struggled to get used to me without glasses ...........
Better half took it in her stride............

You will find the same no doubt - great to be able to see properly again.

Glasses

Yesterday went for my annual eye exam. I've been wearing glasses for over 65 years now.All testing went well no need for new glasses. But do need to go in for cataract surgery so a time is being set up to see the specialist. In discussing the procedure the Dr.said that with this procedure I will not need glasses again as they insert a lens on the eye with my prescription. When I told my wife she said "I may not recognize you without glasses" She may not I may not it will be strange at first.
Good news is good news.
