About this boat
It is believed to have been built around 1975/1980. The old electronics might suggest this.
It will probably take some time and effort to get this boat seaworthy. But I'll make the time with my grandson.
It cheers me up that he's showing an interest in tinkering, which is rather rare these days. So I'm encouraging it!

Bringing an old family model back to life with your grandson makes this restoration even more special.
I wish you both many enjoyable hours in the workshop, and I look forward to following the progress of this beautiful little cabin boat.
Best of luck!
When you have finished your restoration - you would be more than welcome to add it to the Classic Model Power Boat thread on here as we have never had one shown on there before, and it most definitely is a Classic Model Power Boat .
Many thanks,
Bob.
Ian
PS: If you folks haven't yet made up your mind where to spend a late summer holiday with your trailer boat the lake which gave the "Müritz" its name would be a first rate choice.
PS-2: Mike, we should reactivate our get-together plans.
I thought I saw a pair of black plastic mouldings that looked like the two halves of a Wedico gearbox?
I am probably wrong, but I understand they were quite a popular part to be included in some “period” model power boats, and I know that they work really well.
Good luck with your restoration , I think it will make a really nice distinctive looking Classic.
Bob.
I’m currently working on the details—such as the roof, the rudder servo mount,
repositioning the rudder tube, and many other details.
But I’m leaving the painting, gluing, and screwing together to my grandson, who can hardly wait for the holidays!
I’ll still take care of the sanding and sealing the interior.
I have plenty of time before my grandson's school holidays, as I’m going away for ten days with my wife, who needs to go to a health resort.
It’s a relaxing break for me, too—one I’m happy to join in on!
Your Michel-C.
