I this the famed Sir Gele'd isle? I built one when the plan came out. It was for a nephew but balsa does not last long with small hands!

Can anyone steer me to topview & side view drawings? I cud quickly carve one of these out of construction foam. A shorter,less-beam-y version of this style of vessel is common here in Ontario Canada for inter-island construction work. I much prefer the look of your creation.

Hi RodC the Sir Gele d'Isle was a centre fold plan in Model Maker magazine September 1961. The plan produces a model about 11 inches long.

I am not sure if all realised the name is a pun on Jellied eels?

sorry if you thought it obvious!!!!!

    Thanks for all the likes.

Roy is quite right the plan was a free one drawn by Vic Smeed back in 1961 in what was then Model Maker magazine.
I would guess the plan is still available through the Model Boats plans service or what ever it is call now.

I don't know about the jellied eels. 😊

    Cheers,
    stephen.
