Well I did make it with my little Victory industries Fireboat but didn't sail it 😯 there was lots of wash from the bigger boats. it was a good event and I'll definitely be there next year, weather, money and health permitting. Sign of age that, time was it was only money permitting 😯
In the end the club sold themselves short as they had a BBQ selling burgers and drinks and there was a stall around the corner doing likewise as well as the Ice cream van. Well done and thanks King Lear.

Forgot to say IC's are welcome but need to be properly silenced to 80db and below. Any boats above that will be asked to be taken off the water as this is a country park. Own insurance is required.

King Lear Model Boat Club would like to Invite you to the Fireboat Funday/Vintage Model Boat Day which will take place on Sunday 7th September 2014 at King Lears Lake, Watrmead Country Park, Nr Wanlip, Leicestershire, LE7 1PD. We welcome you for an Informal and friendly event where likeminded owners of Model Fireboat/Vintage Model Boats can get together, so bring a boat and have a sail.
There are toilet facilities In the Country Park but no catering or cafe except for an Ice cream van, so bringing your own lunch Is recommended.
There are however two pubs within two miles of the Country Park where 'pub grub' Is available.
