I have been to the Elk Grove Park a few times. The members of the Sacramento Model Shipwrights were very welcoming. They are a little over an hour away from where I live but worth the drive. I only wish I could get free on Friday mornings more often.

That looks like a great venue for RC Boats.
I'm on the right side of the pond, but the wrong side of the country.
Our Model Boat club typically meets at our pond on Sundays.
However, I also belong to a car club (mostly old dudes), and a bunch of us meet every Tuesday at 11AM for lunch.
It's great being retired, and having the time and resources to enjoy life!

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
