Aerokits Patrol Torpedo Boat by Biggles Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 7 months ago
I have an Aerokits Fast Patrol Boat, what scale 20mm deck gun did you buy is it 1/24? Also I was thinking of powering mine with a Graupner 700BB Turbo motor and Nicad battery packs or Lipo batteries. My hull doesn't have spray rails, should I fit some? Sorry for all the questions but I'm returning to powered model boats after a long absence! Thank you for any help received.

Bloodaxe under sail!

Orange Mystery by Biggles Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 9 months ago
I have a BloodAxe which is very similar, I contacted the designer Roger Stollery at Guildford Model Boat Club, he supplied me with a sail plan, I also spoke to him on the phone, he was very helpful. Might be worth trying to contact him.

Ebay or Model Boat Mayhem are good places to look for second hand models?

Orange Mystery by Biggles Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 2 years ago
I have since been told, mine is a Battleaxe Marblehead, but can't find out any further information on the web, my yacht needs new sails and rigging.

I have one the same, mine was used for vane sailing at Southsea Canoe Lake and later converted to RC. I need new sails and rigging.

HI DaveM Thank you for the PropShop contact and info regarding speed controllers, if you need 2 how do you control them on your transmitter? Can you pair them together? Sorry for the questions but I want to try and get it right without too much expense. Regards Paul

Veron Huntsman 28 by Biggles Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 3 years ago
HI Dave Thank you for your kind information. The Veron Huntsman 42 is 42" long, I have been looking at Tornado Thumper brushless motors as they get a very good write up, probably using 2 x 14.8 lipos and one speed controller for both motors. I have a Futaba 6EX that I can use as you do! I have used lipos before and have a charging bag and only charge them outside and always attended. I would like the props to run counter clockwise, so I will need 'handed' props, probably from the "Prop Shop". Any further help gratefully received, best regards Biggles

HI All I recently purchased a Veron Huntsman 42, it has twin prop shafts and rudders, I would like to convert it to brushless outrunner. Can anyone suggest motors, ESCs, propellers and Lipo battery sizes, any help gratefully received. Thank you Biggles

The best small racing yacht? by Biggles Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 3 years ago
My Dragon has HouseMartin sails, but they are available from several good places including Abersoch, he supplies kits, sails and upgrade items, he's also very friendly and will give advice over the phone!

Another thought, DragonForce are launching a One Meter yacht later this year. DragonFlite 95. Look on the Internet for information. It looks very good. Good luck with your choice!

HI Robo177 I have a DragonForce, Victoria & a Fiesta yacht, they are all very good. The DragonForce is good but the rigging is fiddly, the parts are easy to upgrade. The Victoria is a lovely yacht, it sails in light winds, lots of information on the Internet about tuning and upgrades. The Fiesta is a lovely yacht, it sails really well and is great fun, the kit is quite basic but great quality. All of these yachts are sailed in the area where I live!

Twin Electric Set Up for Marx Chris Craft Constellation by Biggles Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 3 years ago
If I ran twin brushless, one of them would need to run backwards, Is this possible? I have twin prop shafts, rudders etc. I suppose I'll need 2 speed controllers. Any one else running a twin brushless set-up? Any help gratefully received. Thank you All.

A Class Launching Method by Biggles Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
HI Dave Thanks for your reply, very helpful, I bought a lightweight "sack trolley" from Ebay, It folds flat, I'll modify that to suit my needs. Happy Boating Paul

A Class Launching Method by Biggles Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 5 years ago
HI Everyone In a moment of complete madness I bought an A Class yacht, Its extremely heavy and very large. The ponds I'm going to sail at both have hard concrete edges (no pontoons or slopes) to the lakes and launching and retrieval on my own would be Impossible, does anyone have any Ideas regarding a launching trolley that can be operated by one person that doesn't Involve bending down as I have damaged my leg and can't get up very easily. Any help would be gratefully received. Paul
