I have completed my 1:44 th. Scale R.M.S. Olympic. She is depicted as she left for New York from Southampton on her June 1911 Maiden Voyage. 6 feet long and set up for radio control.

In 2016 I scratch built the hull of Olympic and then I got a bug to build Normandie also in 1:44th. scale and so i did. Then My Wife died and then I got remarried and about 3 weeks ago the USA went into lockdown and I decided to complete my Olympic model , so over the last 3 weeks I have done about 6 weeks work and I think I can finish her in about two weeks time. Anyway here are a few pictures.

Stunning Scale model. I Love scratch building in larger scale so when you are on the pond the model is clearly visible and does not just fade away and look like some toy.

Normandie is basically completed , I will have to add the electric drive and ballast before floating her and I have her set up for full lighting but I have not yet purchased the led strings to install.

I am also attempting to replicate the excellent miniature Bassett Lowke waterline models to help fill in existing collections and maybe start new ones for others. I have been working so far with Honduras Mahogany and aircraft plywood supplemented with brass fitments. I am doing Olympic and Titanic so far but I am not satisfied yet.

Thank You for the kind responses. I am retired so I can spend more time than I used to. The lusitania is to the same scale and is 5 foot long and I built the table out of Oak.

I am presently scratch building a 1 1:44th. scale model of Normandie 7 feet long as built June 1935. She will be radio controlled and fully lit. I started her in August and I have another month or two of work to complete.
