So I am looking to find a home for two Dean's Marine kits; the 42ft RAF crash tender (1/24th) and the Royal Marine 1/100)

I'll likely buy a cheap rig from amazon. I'm having a hard time finding a good value elsewhere.

๐ suitable brushless motor for a tug ?

Well, I live in the middle of nowhere, with few options other than the internet. While I do sometimes by cheap chinese, I find that the descriptions of product often vague (if there is one), and build quality is often VERY poor. Long shipping times don't help either. So I prefer to find the best quality value I can.

๐ suitable brushless motor for a tug ?

Thanks guys. Bought the motor, ESC, mount, and connectors for $135CDN. Can't beat that.
All I need now is a simple 4 channel R/C rig. My preference is for a 2-stick rig rather than the car type.
And I'll take recommendations for that too!๐

Thank you both for the replies! Much appreciated.
I had not heard of Zippkits. And when I went to the site the first thing that pops up is a brushless motor for tugs. AND they indicate the matching esc. Could not be easier.
Given the price, I can hardly do better.
Having said that, I have never tried a brushless motor, so this will be an experience.
I have two 6v nimh which I'll use in series.
I'd also mention that it has been about 5 years since I did a ship, and the technology seems to have changed rather dramatically in that time....

I have a tug I'm putting together. It is 740mm, and displaces about 3kg. I'm trying to find a low-torque, high power brushless motor for it, preferably But not necessarily) from North America.
Any suggestions on product or sources would be greatly appreciated.

๐ Best way to hold small parts?

I have added heat shrink to some tweezers and that is a big improvement. I have also ordered a set of reverse pliers. ( you can't have too many tools!)
The steady hands are something I can't do much about.
Thanks again for all the replies!

I find that unlocking them creates more problems than it solves,as as it always moves the part

I'm looking for suggestions as the the best way to hold small parts. They slip in my tweezers, and my fingers are well, clumsy. I need a way to grip them that won't damage the part, hold them securely, and release easily once the part is placed...

๐ riva

I checked, and it looks to me like they changed the design. The current oen shown is plank on frame. if you seal the inside with epoxy you can cover most of the interior to seal it up. I honestly don't think you would have a problem

Given that the inner core of the riva is some sort of plastic (onto which the planks are laid and glued), and given that the one shown has some 15 coats of clear epoxy and varnish, it is quite well sealed. And stable in our experience.
I should have mentioned that you may be carving out space for the electronics and motors as well. (I say "may" because it has been a few years, and my memory is not photographic...)
