Hi Martin downloaded video and after 55 minutes told me wrong format which was a pity as it was a good video, and the photo on the beginning was the beginning of the video. Strange..

Had a full sea trial last week, delighted with all results, please see video. Best results on throttle just about half speed ahead, but much more fun on full speed.

Hi John, thanks for comments.the plans came from traplet I believe. I still have my plans from this build. Plus a bit of a build blog. I would be willing to sell them. Also I spent four years cracking ice,in Canada,Finland and Russia as you can guess I was in the merchant navy. The pilot boat is mine as well. Regards Jim

Hi, I have in mine two outlander 4250 and a kv of 900, I run each one on three Lipo cells (11.1v) they have been in the boat over six years and I have never had a bit of bother with them,I run props of 45mm on the motors boat weighs around 20 lbs and comes on the plane within 6/8 feet. Twin HOBBYKING esc of 60amps works very well. Hope this helps regards jim

Units taken out of another boat. Bought new one but had to remove sloping stern. New one was perpendicular, as units are 90 degrees from input to output. Once fitted and tested rest of boat was fitted out with planked deck and crew members, rails and other bits . The lighting consists of nav lites and the pods on the stern are lit up with blue LEDs The system works on a three channel system. One motors on a y lead, steering the nozzles and reversing buckets. Turns extremely tightly considering the size of the boat, all in all a nice little project (Motor: Graupner 900 x 2) (ESC: Electronize ) (7/10)

Just fitted two 90amp esc from the hobbyking range work my 900 watt motors a treat, and come pre programmed. Or programme them yourself if you can count the dots and dashes like a radio operator. Dont buy the hobbyking card they dont work, see comments if you go on the site....

most model shops do it, I have also seen it in B. & Q or you could use normal varnish and put johnson baby powder in it, which is basically sanding sealer.

Own design, built several years ago, had one major refit which meant vessel cut in half.Power produced by Bosch windscreen wiper motors which enables me to push four very large and heavy coal barges. With 22 accommodation, and 14 navigation lights which can be lit up in various combinations she lights up the sailing area quite well. The barges can also be pushed in various combinations. (Motor: Bosch windscreen wiper) (ESC: Electronize) (5/10)

HI thanks for the comments. No problems with buoyancy only 6oz lead to bring her upright, a bit tender but will be adding a further 16 oz of ballast before next outing. She will weigh 18 lbs. transport is not a problem back seat of the car. Lifting and lowering into lake with two strops. This is not really a big model. I have one at 58 inches. We sail in several locations in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. My next model is already on the stocks and will be a jet boat a bit like a super doper cabin cruiser, own design and scratch built as per stardust. Regards jim

HI fellow model leers.this is my latest model.Built in 1926' for the Ffyfe(bananas) family. Originally it was run on steam, but in 1939 converted to diesel, this was kept until 1957 when all the staterooms were replaced by cargo holds . She was then made into a feeder bringing eleven thousand boxes from Rotterdam to Southampton. She was scrapped in the seventies.my model of her was from 1926 the scale is approx 1/30th her length is 48 inches including bowsprit, and has a beam of 10 inch amidships. She is totally scratch built, plank on frame, all the decks are individually planked with black card in between , wheel house and all other parts are mahogany. She runs on a decaperm geared motor @ 6 volts, and the lighting system consists of 10 accommodation lights, port and starboard , wheelhouse, and both mast headlights, the large saloon skylight is also lit up with a set of disco lights on a separate circuit. The funnel houses a heavy duty smoke unit switched on by switching unit.

Looks a nice job. interior looks good. Are you going brushless/lipo ? To me that is the way to go for performance, and as long as you don't go too mad with long runs the batteries can last quite a while. Regards .

This model was built from a model slipway Tamar kit. it was modified substantially.all rails are soldered brass. info was from the website of Peterhead R.N.L.I. Station were there are excellent photos. The models engines are thumper motors 4240' at 900kv and run on three cell lipos @ 5000ma. Which give me at least an hour. With a speed of at least 10 mph, which lifts her bow out of the water, way passed the bow thruster , which is a graupner 400. Radar works through an old servo . Flashing blue light on mast. Running and accommodation lights. These boats are normally red below waterline however Scarborough life boats have always been white below the waterline. The crew are star war figures modified with plastic putty and a sharp knife. Not an easy build but very enjoyable. Eric Plaxton was the chairman of plaxtons coaches, and platoons building services. He left 9 million pounds to the boro of Scarborough, and 3 million to scarborough R.N.L.I., for a new boat .
