Having been to this show in the past and enjoyed everything the show had to offer I am afraid this year was not what I was expecting at all and needless to say our 2hr trip down the motorway was soon a return trip. I believe the fact that the Museum was not open due to refurbishment didn't help and maybe a postponement of the event may have been the best option!
Hopefully any future shows will get back to form once the Museum has done its work.

CADMA was founded in 1985 by a small band of local boat modellers who met in the Conisbrough Library. The club was constituted as a general modelling club to be known as the Coinsbrough and District Modelling Association, (CADMA). The first president of the club was the late Basil Copley M.B.E.

CADMA dug its own lake at the Millpiece, the site of a former water powered wood mill in the shadow of the majestic keep of Coinsbrough castle. As the club developed and numbers increased, a larger sailing site was needed.
We meet every Sunday from 12.30pm at the fountain area of the main lake complex on LAKESIDE BOULEVARD. Electric and steam powered vessels are permitted but not internal combustion engines. We are licensed by the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough council to use the lake and we carry Public Liability Insurance. This is the only licensed site for the sailing of model boats in the Doncaster area.

CADMA model boat show with lots of traders and lots of models on display including an outdoor portable pool. There is also a reasonably priced restaurant on site. There will be a Bring & Buy available.
Lots of Free car parking is available.
Entrance fees are Adults £5, Family Ticket 2 Adult-2 Children £12. Children under 16 £2. Adult wheelchair users + 1 Carer £7.
Child wheelchair users + 1 Carer £5.
Opening Times, Saturday 10am - 4pm. Sunday 10am - 4pm.

Hi oldtimer
This was my first attempt at being the organiser of the CADMA show this year and it was my intention to get as many trades stands and club stands at the show without compromising on space. it was always my intention to have as much free movement for all at the show this year.
Although I did and have had some very positive feedback your comments has made it all worth while. As many will know it takes alot of work to organise such events like this on your own and with the help of members on the day and get it right. That said if I was asked to organise next years show I would be happy to eventhough I work full time.

I made the trip from Doncaster as it boasted that there would be many trade stalls attending! While there was many clubs displaying some fantastic models. However I was very disapointed with the trade stands and how few there was, I had a list with me but walked away with little.
Another issue was that when we went to follow the directions posted in the program we where diverted elsewere which made finding areas a little confusing and must have done the trip round quite a few time ha.
Overall I had good time but didnt come away with what I wanted.

I went will high hopes of grabbing a bargain but walked away with nothing unfortunatly. I expected it to be a little larger than it was with lots on offer but in quite a small room with lots of bargain hunters I was surprised nothing was dragged of the tables as it got quite tight. Great idea from a local point of veiw but only disapointed as I traveled quite away.
