I have a patrol Launch which I completed as a partly built kit inherited from my father. As it was my first build I was unsure of how to finish the hulls exterior. I painted the hull with body shop aerosol paint, which unfortunately after a sessions use started to peel away in a couple of places. I have stripped the hull back and just need some advise on the best way to finish the hull in order to gain strength, durability and most of all, a nice finish.
Can the members offer any help?
Many thanks in advance!

I'm not sure how much use some of the plans would be, but worth a look...

Hi all,
Has anyone got info on where you can source the plans or a kit for a Kingfisher? I'd love to have a go a building one but don't seem to be able to find a scrap of information on the model.
Cheers Jon

Thanks Alan, I'm probably worrying about nothing but I just didn't fancy leaving it unattended and find I have an issue with it on the water. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks Alan, the cover I've built is quite a tight fit, I'm just a bit concerned that spray might wash over the cover and allow water to collect in the compartment.

Hi, I'm currently in the process of building my first model. it's one of my fathers that has been sat in the loft, kit form for 30 odd years. I have the decals to turn it into a fire boat but I'm struggling to find a suitable monitor to place on the coach house roof. Can you remember where yours came from?

Hi Kalamunda,
How did you get round the issue of the hull Lettering/Numbering? I've been unable to source suitable decals to apply to my boat and was wondering if you could advise?
Many thanks
Jon

Hi Harleydream1, I like what you have done with the Sea Urchin, its hard to see in the image but are you operating the tiller steering with lines run forward to a servo?
Many thanks Jon

I like to idea of your makeshift cutting tool, I take it you pilot drill a hole far enough in to guide the cutting tube into place?
Cheers Jon

Thanks again for the info Boaty, I've decided to fit a Brushless 28/38mm 3500KV motor with a 35Amp ESC. The motor seems to have quite a bit of torque and runs at a high top speed, though its first sea trial will tell all. When I get it fully assembled I'll post a few images on the webpage.
Thanks again for the help π
Regards Jon

Hi Kalamunda, I'm currently building an FPL and have fitted a thin piece of silicone tube between the rudder shaft support tube and the tiller arm on the top of the rudder shaft, this seems to stop the ingress of water into the rear compartment.
I hope this helps!!

Hi,
I like the design of your motor cooling, what tubing did you use to wrap around the motors?
