    Hi Steve
Yes I did look at the Masterblaster but it appears to be an on/off devise the Mtronics sound is portional to the motor speed
I.E. From a tick over it increases as you throttle up or down to relate to the motor speed, it picks the motor speed up from a sensor that is joined into any two of the three motor wires and must say the installation is very simple with the pre made and plugged wiring harness.
    Hope this helps Peter

Can't find a gas turbine sound anywhere but I used the air start diesel (details below off there advert)better than nothing and quite impressive ( I think ).

MTronik Digisound Large Multi Cylinder Air Start Diesel
    Ref: 4462
The digiSOUND5m is the new marine sound module from Mtroniks Ltd. it is the worlds first 100% waterproof, plug n play sound module designed to take the hassle out of giving your model a realistic sound! The sound module requires NO programming or set up, it comes with a realistic sound pre-installed leaving just the installation to complete before you can get under way! The unit comes complete with built in amplifier, wiring loom and even a 75.0mm diameter waterproof speaker!
You simply install the unit in your model and go! There is no complicated PC interface to deal with or complicated set up, you REALLY do just have to plug it in and go!!! Add this to the legendary Mtroniks waterproof construction and you really don't need to look any further!

    Hi
I believe President don't do the glass hull now due to a fire at the factory who produced them so now only have the wood hulls. I also have the 49" Perkasa (grp) hull you can see a picture in my profile, I run mine on a single prop with the following set up and it runs very stable and very fast although you need a big water to open up to full throttle..........

    Leopard 4074 brushless motor
    Tinergy 120A ESC
    35 prop
2x 500 4S lipos wired in parallel....... gives about 50 mins fast sail time even longer at a more scale speed.
    Mtroniks digisound sound module
    Spectrum DX2e wheel type transmitter.

Yes I also run a Pro boat shockwave (very fast ) and also my fast MTB my preference is the Car type transmitter for these and find it more responsive ( again my personal opinion ) I also use a stick transmitter on my other three boats although not as fast the control is excellent plus an extra couple of channels for lights, smoke, sound Etc that is not available on my wheel TX.

Thanks for that, have had a look and this appears to be a ready built wood display model with brass propellers ( on a paddle steamer ? ) I was wondering if it could be converted into a r/c sailing model but noticed the size is only 31 inches and I'm looking for
something about 1.48 th scale making the hull about 62 inches.
    Many thanks for your help

    Hi Felix
Unfortunately the Waverley search goes on , don't think it is going to come to anything now but will always have an eye open just in case. Looking around for a different model to have a go at but nothing jumps out with the required size / detail to keep
Me out of mischief and occupied for several months. if you should ever see the Waverley kit / part built ETC please let me know.

I have been using Gorila resin now for a couple of years and have found it to be an excellent product, be ready to use as soon as you have mixed it as it very soon starts to set . Sets quick and once set can be filed, drilled, sanded Etc.

Thanks for adding the link I had been trying without success to find it for hours, listened to it now and not impressed with the excuses , economic climate/ resection if that was the case why do other online shops not have any problem, not wanting to advertise Other outlets but I use two of the popular ones mentioned regularly and NEVER had to wait more than three days......enough said.

Looking good, once all the bits and bobs are fitted not forgetting the railings it will instantly start to become the fantastic Perkasa we all love. Just be carful not to varnish the deck at any point were you will be fitting any of the accesories I had a hard time with mine not getting a good hold and had to mark out and very carefully scrape away the varnish/paint so the glue could get a good purchase on the wood.

Thanks again for your support and encouragement, I don't have any model shops around here for materials but have found a few on line that are promising. Have been looking at a "Dremel Moto-saw"electric fret saw at about ยฃ80 That looks ok for the project don't know if you have any idea if it would be OK?

Absolutely no need to apologise this is the whole idea to get as much information as possible from fellow modellers,
As you said you also had little confidence at first but how did your first build from plans go? I think I have more or less decided to give it a go and got "permission" from her who must be obeyed to go out and spend some money on tools ETC.
When I do get started I will also start a build blog on here to let you all know how well it is going or not.
    Thanks Peter

    Hi
What you say makes sense and must admit I am now giving it serious consideration, will have to work out what tools I would need (only have the minimum) to build from kits and also were I could source the wood I would require as no model shops in my area, can it be obtained on the internet. As far as tools I wouldn't mind spending quite a reasonable amount as the cost to build from scratch I would think would be considerably less than buying a kit. Will try and compose a list of tools perhaps a small type bandsaw
Etc. Telling the wife might be the next hurdle to overcome but what's life without some confrontation .
    Thanks again Haverlock

Thanks for your link to clydemodelboats, as you say yes they do a fibreglass hull and plans for the Waverley.
Unfortunate to build scratch from plans is above my skill level, kits on the other hand I can easily manage.
But they are now developing a Kit version to go with the F/G hull unsure when it will be available but sounds promising have
sent email to see if they can advise on a time scale.

    HI Les
I have my anchor fitted to my Perkasa with just a drop of superglue on the anchor and a couple of drops on the chain,
Have been sailing this model now for over 12 months and never had a problem. But if unsure the idea with pins sounds good to me a small dab of glue on the pins should prevent any water getting through, although I sail mine at a fast speed I don't get any water on the bow.
    Happy sailing

I set it up with the Turnigy marine programming card as follows.
