Shots from the Chichester Canal RC Boat Run 2018. A bit of an endurance run and all except my galleon made it. Mine decided to not be attached to the prop shaft after a bit. Several children took part and several of the local clubs were there to enjoy the sunshine and company

A few shots from today at the Portsmouth Model Boat Display Teams new club house at the Explosion Museum, Gosport- the tide was out so no boats on the water ☹️
So we sat back with a coffee and some ice cream, enjoyed the sunshine while watching the tide come in ( to give us an idea of how long either side of high tide we have usable water ) and the various boats going around the harbour with a backdrop of HMS Queen Elizabeth. The ex USS Chesapeake/ex HMS Revenge was given an airing in the sun. She is now the Minerve/HMS Minerve depending on which side she is fighting on

Picked up a rather battered wooden hulled Amsterdam tug last Thursday. The intention is to give it some much needed TLC and convert it to one of the French Tenace Class tugs. It will be used as my clubs camera / rescue boat so accuracy and detail will come second to the functionality of its role.
Currently I have stripped out everything except the motor so I can fit some strengthening and improve the watertightness of the hull

A short selection of the flower class corvettes of the Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team. All made from the same 1/48 hull mould, they are not exact replicas - more designed to look 'good' on the water. Finely detailed models do not tend to remain finely detailed for long with the abuse the Team puts them through!
I am going through the photo collection and having a good sort out and reorganisation (thanks to my old laptop crashing) amd will post more as I can.

Look forward to meeting you. Once we are settled in the new clubhouse I will let everyone know. The good thing about our new location is that we will have access 24/7 (once we sort out the keys).

Oh I forgot to add, there is no need to pay to get into the Museum to see us. Just like the on site cafe we are outside the main Museum. Just walk past the main building entrance towards the camber dock. When there turn left past the cafe and we are in the last building. On the bank holiday monday there is a £2 fee as they are having a Mayday fate there.

The Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team are holding the first Come Mee the Team event at our new clubhouse.
Our new clubhouse is located in the Explosion Museum, Gosport and we will be holding several events throughout the year where you can come and have a chat, have a look at the workshop, and see some of the Teams models. The first of these events will be 6th and 7th of May. Monday the 7th is also the Museums Family day - lots of stall and traditional May day games plus hopefully the Team will be able to do something to keep the crowds amused. The Sunday will see the Team getting ready for the Monday (and drinking tea) propably the better day for chatting to them!
Unfortunately, though we have our own water, it is tidal and the sea is out for most of both days
