Hello Skegness..I am using 2 E-Max GT2820/7 brushless Motors. These Are UK purchased from BRC Hobbies (based Northolt) Cost £20.95 each.. these are 850 KV..using Twin Mystery RC 70A Forward Backward 2-7s Brushless ESC (with Ubecc) about £20 or less on EBay (HK).
Run Time..1 Hour, mix of fast and slow Sailing..Depends on use.
Using 2 X 7.2 NMH Volt Battery Packs..at 5000mah each.
She Goes Like fast, and cuts through water lovely.
Have A Similar Setup (Different Emax Motors) in my Models By Design interceptor 42 Boat (42 inch length)..Tooo Fast for me..lol..Any Other info PM me for phone number..Happy Sailing

Thanks Gents for your input, I will look at those insurers you mention.
Our present Brokers insurance does Cover us for boating, but as I said, Not Racing, even for Toy yachts (sad).
Spoke with "Zurich insurance" and they came up with a Block Policy of £85, and ticked all the boxes, but I will keep looking around as our current insurance doesn't run out till March.
Any Club with "Zurich" ??? thoughts ??

Fellow Members I need your thoughts and Input please regards Insurance Cover.
Basically My Club has the basic £5,000,000 Public Liability Insurance In Line with the Local Council Requirements.
This Cover was arranged through "Stamp Insurance Brokers".
Members using "Fast Electric Boats" (some may describe them as Power Race Boats) were covered to sail such craft individually, BUT NOT in any aspect or form of "Racing". (2 "Fast Electrics Boats In the Water running in the same direction at high speed could possibly be perceived to be "Racing")
Due to discussions within the Club it was felt that the Term "Racing" should be Clarified with the Insurers, so duly contacted the Broker "Stamp Insurance Brokers".
The have decreed that "Racing" even includes "Wind Powered Sail Yachts" and are not therefore covered by the "Policy" for Yachts "Racing Events" as this comes under "Sporting Activiities" I pointed out to the "Broker" that I have 3 small Childrens style "Pond Yachts" some 30cms length (12 Inches) and I was pretty much amazed that they state, "Under the Policy" even these harmless small yachts (as I see It) cannot be raced either.
I understand Insurers us "Blanket Words", but this leaves me feeling rather dazed.
So fellow boaters, whats your thoughts on all this?? what insurance companies have you used, or recommend ?
I have one Criteria...To Keep the Insurance Cost as Low as possible, our current policy is £64 per year for the Club members as a group. Our Membership fees are £10 per year. We have surplus Cash, and In the 18 months of being established I have purchased main equipment, ie; Large Gazebo, Gas Cooker, and other Equipment, so pretty much got all we need as a club.
Each Month I run a "Free Monthly Prize Draw" at no cost to the Club or members, thanks to my good contacts and supporters, with Prizes ranging from a couple of pounds up to £30.

Our Club( Vale Of Glamorgan Model Boat Club) Attempted to Use Our Pop-Up Gazebo (6x3mtr) for the second time only, I say Attempted as we had many Failures, 8, On the Framework, Cross pieces splitting. There Was Only very Slight Wind on the day 8mph.
Any Other Clubs Had Such Problems ?????. This was purchased on Ebay, New.

After twice been told by "Westbourne Models" Staff that our Friend in italy, Saintsalvio, will have his money Refunded, Nothing has come through, in fact on one occasion I was told it was being done as I spoke on the Phone.
After many attempts to phone them again with no replies I did a Little detective work and obtained the Mobile Phone number of Martin Shanks the manager. Well what a surprise to hear him answer!! I guess I caught him off guard. After many excuses about problems with bank and computers he has Stated he has now sent it today, Via "Paypal", lets hope Saintsalvio will find it in his account. Oh Yes, you can reach Martin Shanks on 077912 27892 if you are having trouble on the Shop number.

Sadly our Friend "Saintsalvio"in italy has still NOT received his Refund From Westbourne Models. I phoned them again today on his behalf.
I was given all sorts of excuses why he has not been refunded.
But today they have assured me the "Refund" has now been sent as we spoke on the phone.
Until Sainsalvio gets his Refund I will remain calm, lol, but Westbourne will be getting a much more strongly worded call from me once it has been settled. Watch this space!!

Update (4..30pm), Ref Saintsalvio Refund. I called back Westbourne Models.
Again Spoke to Geoff, I gently persuaded him to speak with Martin Shanks (Manager) whilst I was on the Phone. I have been assured that this Refund will be done today, lets watch this space !!!

Telephoned Westbourne Models Today on behalf of our Fellow Boating Friend Saintsalvio in italy.
Spoke to "Geoff" at Westbourne Models, explaining situation.
Got the usual response, Only the Boss can do Re-Funds. The Boss being a Martin Shanks. I have been assured that our fellow Boating Friend will have a Re-fund Today. I have told Westbourne Models that I will phone later Today to check this has been done.
I have to say, I played it calmly, in the hope this can be sorted..fingers crossed guys.

Only Just A few weeks ago since I last posted on here, having stated our Membership had grown to 46.
Well things seems to change very quickly here, and I am more than pleased to announce we have now reached 53 Members, 7 new members since my last post. All the more special to us as we Celebrate our 1st Anniversary on 27th March.
But what is really pleasing is to welcome our first lady members, Sandra and Alison, the latter having the honour of being our 50th registered member.
A Warm Welcome to All. VGMBC

Sadly I also experienced problems with Westbourne Models. Like others here I had to ask my Credit Card company to step in by giving Westbourne official notification of impending action.
