Its scratch built off the USCG plans I got the plans from the USCG museum. it is self righting I have 6 12v 3.4ah batteries in it 4 for the motors and the other two run the misc electronics. I built boxes that hold the batteries in place into the bottom of the boat and since those batteries are low profile all the weight in the boat is at or below the waterline. so it has no problem rolling back over.

No did my time on a destroyer But My father lived and fished out or Westport Wa for years and that coast guard station was home to a 52' So for years I had seen this type boat. I spend most of my time building and racing 1/10th scale hydroplanes but in the winter had nothing to run so I decided to try my hand a building one of these in a scale that would alow me to take it out and run it when the weather is not so nice.
