Sorry I can't answer that, I've never used lipo's so I can't give you a comparison. I've never had any problems with the sealed lead acid batteries, and use them on all my boats, they also double as ballast, as I would rather use batteries that dead weight.

HMAS Arunta was an Australian Tribal Class Destroyer during WWII. I'm building her in 1/72 scale and is my second build (again, a work in progress), and was started so that I had something to sail, while I was finishing the HMAS Fremantle. (Motor: Graupner Speed 720BB Torque (6372) x 2) (ESC: Mtroniks Viper Marine 15 Plug n Play x 2) (9/10)
