Lighting covers

Made covers to hide a portion of the wiring. Added lighting to the inside of the lounge. These are on a separate power source as they are not LED. Now there are three switches 1 for mast and navigation 2 for spot 3 for lounge access from doorway either side.

Rigging

Completed the rigging as close to the plans as possible. The view only shows from the side. Most of the parts are now in place. Stack and a few windows yet to do. Ships wheel in place.

Brass Parts

The kit supplied a piece to go on for rudder protection found a 1/4 x 32nd brass strip cut two pieces of the strip and braised together getting the thickness needed. Drilled and fitted to the keel for the support.
The four stanchions (top of picture) for the kit were made from white metal looked to big to me .The six brass stanchions were done using brass tubing braised together.

Stanchions

Marked out and drilled for the stanchions used the 6 pcs I made. The kit with there design used heavy looking rope with the 4pcs of kit stanchions. Found chain to go through the the top loops and fastened to the pilot house through all 3 stanchions on each side.

Rick your skill levels are getting better all the time. I have one criticism, but it's only my feeling, the chain looks rather tight, I usually allow a small amount of slack which I think looks more realistic and also if it gets knocked less likely to get damaged.
My Westeriffe has a sliding pilot docking ramp and the chain only gets tight when fully extended.
Sorry for being picky, but don't get upset over just this old facts ideas.
    Cheers Colin.

Chain

With Colin's comments about slack in the chain looking more realistic put new chain in the stanchions. Thanks Colin.

The Reveal

Had taped off all areas that would not be painted red time consuming but necessary. Amazing that even the tiniest spot paint can get through. Little touch up and on to cover coat of polyurethane first coat on a few more to go. Than on to Harbour time.

Power

Only little areas to touch up and fine tune the hull moved on to setting up ESC. Motor rudder and rudder servo had been installed and removed to paint the boat. Just a matter of putting them back in place hooking them up to to the ESC transmitter and receiver. All in place and working AOK. The is ready for spring water tests and ballasting.
