Hey Jonathan good to hear from you. In your neck of the New England woods you could just put your fleet outdoors to naturally weather this time of year, although warping might be an issue. Understand the search is underway for a new sailing venue next year. I always look forward to our down Maine trips. They are WP!
You should do a blog on the van-loading system for your destroyer. Happy Thanksgiving. Bill ๐ Like

Wicked nice Bill. You are hired. Great weathering. I am loading up my fleet and will drop it off at your house on Thanksgiving Day. If you could put just a touch of scuff on it , it would be great....๐
I look forward to seeing er in person this coming summer. Jonathan ๐ Like

Great videos Martin. The young puffer engineer in the first video sounds like a Kiwi or Aussie. If so, a funny place to find one! A friend of mine, a fitter and turner, was a volunteer engineer on the big William C Daldy steam tug here in Auckland, (126ft, 750tons) and he took us down to the engine room for a look while she was under way. Two huge triple expansion steam engines, steam powered generators, water pumps, steering engine etc, - really fascinating, so many moving bits, but on deck, virtually silent.
Update Just had a quick look at the kingston flyer steam train site here, and guess who I found ? His family appears to be into tourism down south. Other pic, as stoker on the TSS Earnslaw. An obvious steam nut. JB ๐ Like

Hi Chum444, I am involved with the Highlander Clyde Puffer build and blog, and in answer to your question I haven't got a clue except I can say that the round tank by the chimney has a handpump on the superstructure to fill it, and there is an outlet on the bottom into the engine room. The square tank on the back has tappings off the top and the bottom which again go into the engine room. Check out my blog photos, and yes they both contain water. Regards, Gary.
