I appreciate all of your kind comments; a big thank you. The sound module is an ESS One+. I chose it for its compact form with the built-in speaker & its simplicity since this was my first attempt at automation. Unfortunately you cannot download boat diesel sound files but the diesel sound imbedded in the unit sounds pretty good & is dynamic.
SS; I would love to create a few puffs of black smoke on startup. I’ve just been reading that black smoke is the holy grail & difficult to achieve. That plus I don’t like the thought of hot devices on board will prevent me from achieving that effect. ▲

More details. Added pulpit to enable skipper to harpoon swordfish or giant tuna if lobster fishing slows down. Thus “PHASE CHANGE”.

I bought this hull on the Stateside RC Forums site from a fellow whose name I have long since forgotten. This Greg Hiltz hull sat on my shelf for many years before I finally decided to build it. It came with most accessories the gent had purchased from top shelf vendors.

I actually also have full size printed plans for that particular boat, suitable for scratch building this lobsterboat, or using as templates for bulkheads, decks, cabins, etc.

Hi, that looks an interesting build. Is it a scale model? Will watch progress with interest. For your information I used the West system epoxy throughout the build as I have used this system before and found it great as its so verstile from epoxy to fillers and glues. Cheers Ian

Here’s the boat that inspired PHASE CHANGE, the PATRICIA ANN out of Portland, Maine.The attraction was the lack of a trunk cabin.Don’t know the homeport of the boat in the second photo but again, no trunk cabin.

Yes, you have one of my 34.5"X12 Classic Cape Islander hulls, and by the date sticker, an older one. Great that you will be finishing it off, keep us all posted. I still produce that hull, along with.three larger versions now. I also have molds for a 42"X16 Wedgeport Atkinson hull, a 43.5"X16 Hutt style PEI hull, and a big 45"X23 Rhino Hull, common with the modern lobster fishermen in Atlantic Canada. ▲
