With all of those people who will realise after the first 4 or 5 issues how much it is going to cost👎, how many Icebergs will the Titanic have hit again.🙈

Hi Rick, hi all!!
If you don't give up, you usually win. . You never stops learning! And as a mountain and landlubber, I will soon ask you helpers and senior gurus with questions about ABS hulls and resins.
But first I enjoy the weekend with my grandchildren.
I'm looking forward to the many tips and ideas in advance! There are moments in life when you are a little perplexed. But for this I am also in this great forum!
Thanks pals! Who can I offer the crown to for their tips??
Greetings from Michel-Claude

So right Mike better to have the boat in house and be able to fix mistakes. Rather then to have started the purchase waiting for more parts to come and get notice they went out of business. Sorry about your bad luck

The major problem with this type of magazine, forgetting the price for a moment, is that they stop the issues if the take up drops below a certain level during the three years. This can leave a part built model with a huge amount of outlay. Not nice.
Peter.

I cannot promise to finish one project before starting another. I know, I tried.
Hello all you sailors and boat builders!
Well something of a rip-off. . . I didn't notice from the beginning what exactly this was about, but it smells like some kind of pyramid scheme, in Europe people keep thinking about it.
Better to buy a kit from a company with a backbone than to get involved in such experiments!

PS:Better to have a few model boat corpses in the basement, because you know what you have!

These things have always struck me as a complete rip-off - I don't know how they get away with it, but I suppose that there are some poor (rich) fools who buy it.

Exactly my thoughts sir. A few years ago l fell into the trap with the model of the Victory. After 4 issues l thought hang on this is going to take nearly 4 years when I could have purchased a superb model from (Billing Boats?) for half the price.
Cheers
Richard

I expect every UK member will have seen on TV an advert to make a model of Titanic from 140 weekly parts. Now I've no intention of building this but as the first part is only 1.99 I thought that in the interest of research I would get it. There are 140 parts to be purchased. The second is 5.99, third is free if you have subscribed, then the rest are 9.99 making, if my maths is correct, a grand total of £1388. But if you want a glass case then it's an additional £140 or £1 per part extra. This makes a model 1.34 metres long. The first part contains a couple of pieces of etched wood making the fo'c's'l deck and twenty odd plastic bollards, breakwater and hatchway. Next part there will be three bits of the diecast hull. Sometime, there will be a model of the engine which rotates, propellors rotate, lights and smoke maker work by remote control The first part contains a history of the Titanic, which will be added to with each issue, together with illustrated instructions of the putting together of this part's bits. Obviously this is a kit of parts where no making skills are needed, just the ability to put bits together.
I must admit, I cannot see many of the members of this forum paying out for this model, but I thought members who have seen the advert would like to know what it's all about. I think I'd be fed up with it by the time the last part arrives, in nearly three years
cheers, Nerys

When the winds before the rain, soon you may make sail again, but when the rain's before the wind, tops'l sheets and halyards mind
