You may wish to look at the Useful Links section on this site and scroll to Places. This is a list of Model Boat Clubs and you may see one near your location. Joining a club will help you sail your models safely and at a place that allows model boats, plus you will have the help and expertise of dedicated modellers to help you resolve any issues. Others have mentioned the importance of 3rd part liability insurance which really is a must in our claim society.
Nice looking models and please ask on this site if you need help and advice in the preparation, but please use a fresh blog with an appropriate heading.
Good luck

Then take a drive up to Crawley, and i will get you into the club!!

As your in Worthing, go to Sussex model shop, they will know were to go, as in clubs,

ive spent THOUSANDS over the years in there, so they better help a fellow Sussex member !

Thanks Steve!
That's a good bit of advise I never even thought about Insurance. I used to live near Bushey Park by Hampton Court and sailed powered RC boats on the lakes there, but that was many moons ago and I stopped when I moved to Worthing in the 90s. I have just got these boats and when they are refurbished I will need somewhere to use them.

I was in the same position, as yourself only two months ago, as im an Rc plane flyer, and the winds were too strong to fly, So i refurbished my late Grandfathers boat, to a sea fairing, ok, pond muddling Rc boat
i found a local club, (Millpond Crawley Sussex, UK) and with there website, knew what days they meet,

I met up with said members, and with a freebie, sailed my launch with their permission, and joined the club two days later

Now for me, as an RC flyer (and a bad one at that) i am fully aware, that insurance is paramount, and randomly sailing a boat, or whatever, without insurance, is not a very wise thing to do !

For the sake of a £20 fee, with insurance, its a no brainer

Hi all! and thank you for allowing me to join. I have just got these boats, they both need work to make them water friendly again. But do I need to belong to a club, and where am I aloud to sail them with out a club?
