Just a thought but this might be the 'Galloping Ghost' system using a mark/space ratio to position a motor driven servo.

Having now looked at all the pieces I think the system is a very early transistorised one, no crystals just screwdriver tuning. I think it was a system using pulses to switch channels on and off. speed controlled by a 2pole 2 way relay, switched by the gearbox and micro switches
I do not have the tx but references are to be found on good old google -- I do not think I will have time, energy, patience to construct one, too many other things to do -- see the car!!

Hi Colin I collect model electric motors I have 2 off BL Marines (square magnet) one in use and a BL geared upright permanent green painted magnet motor.

I have a variety of others, can you PM me a bigger picture of your mystery motor please? I can send my email address if that helps.

Just sold a SEL 1261 as new in a box as I was never going to use it.
Have a couple of the 1260's as well.

I have a lot of Marx motors mainly for use and one each of the Mabuchi 505 and a 705 in boxes. Just fitted a 505 into an old Bustler tug boat.
I have almost all the Taycols and exchanged a big one for a Decaperm ( for use). I also have an unusual Taycol 1:4 Taycol gearbox. I bought it in a surplus shop many years ago and they were stacked up high!
I have a 6v Hectoperm looking for a home as well.

A lot of the can motors maybe 70 or 80 altogether.

I found one of the BL Marine motors buried in a home made steering mechanism, that was out straight away and into a copy of the Sea Jay launch.

I also have one marine clockwork motor a big sturdy one 7/8ths. wide spring a K193. Saw one in a Kellner boat a week or so back at a Toy boat get together.
I have a couple of mystery motors as well.
    regards
    Roy

Hi there don't get your hopes up too much. There was so many made that they mainly get given away now. Some of the receivers do not like being with a modern ESC and twitch a lot.
I know this as I use 27Mhtz and have just removed the same due to twitching. In the main it all still works and most modellers have a few crystals as well.

Not sure what the collectors want but suggest looking new / unused in a good original box for starters.
    Good luck
    Roy

Hi Tony, there are a few of us on here that collect and use vintage rc gear.
I have a collection of vintage boats all still using where possible their original rc systems.
As most rc clubs now use 2.4 ghz there is little or no chance of my old valve sets, 27mhz or 40mhz boats causing others problems, but I always ask first before launching.
Please post your photos as I am very interested in seeing your equipment.
Here are some of my bits of equipment.
    Cheers Colin.
Fair winds and calm waters, COLIN.

    Hi
I have a RCS Mk3 27mcs transistor tone receiver, an old Ripmax mini top servo and a speed controller(no idea of the manufacturer), came out of an Elbe fishing boat.
Are there any vintage groups /collectors in the UK ? if so details please!
    Photos will arrive later!
    Cheers
    Tony
