Thank you Stephen,
I am still getting the delay when typing text.
Maybe that is something I will have to put up with.

Martin.

This one is fixed too. Turns out there was a really long hyperlink posted, causing it to stretch the page. I've removed hyperlinks from post text now, as they're automatically extracted into clickable buttons anyway.

Thanks

Hi Stephen,
Another slight problem that I have discovered this morning.

I have been trying to look back on a post so I could read the entire log but when it says 'loading more'
It loads the next bit larger than the page.
See attached screen shot.

The log in question is Build Log H.Sw.M.S Visby by Rowen.

Thanks for the speedy reply but Colin’s magic pictures worked perfectly. Seems that I had a snake in the phones operating system.😬

Peter, could you send a screenshot of what you mean about the icon getting boxed? If you can’t upload the screenshot here, you can send it to modelboatswebsite@gmail.com

Pleased things are working your side now Colin 👍

Strange. Since your post Colin, your two pictures opened ok. I checked some other photos on other threads and they also opened. You must have just posted two magic photos. 🤣😃

Hi Stephen.
Over the past two days I have not been able to open any of the pictures on my iPhone. I can see the small picture but when you try to open one, the icon gets boxed but then nothing happens.

I have got to the bottom of the issue with the photos. In the end, it was a very simple fix - wish I'd seen it straight away instead of scratching my head for so long.

So I've only tested in Chrome, I'm going to assume it'll now work correctly on Android too, as Android essentially uses the same web engine. @Colin, if you can confirm?

Thanks,
Stephen

Stephan,
I concur with Pete.
The arrows to scroll to next and last pictures is back!!! (Windows 10 / Chrome browser).
Thank you!

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Yes it was attached to each post so that you could directly answer that particular post or question.

Is it for when you want to comment on a comment? If you can again screenshot and circle where you’d like the comment button?

If it’s where I’m thinking, it was taken out as there isn’t such a thing as nested comments. So replying to a comment, in affect, replies to the main post, not the comment itself. So it made sense to only have the one comment button on main posts only.

One evening, once I’ve stopped wasting my time watching the UK try to put satellites into space, I should be able to get to the bottom of it 👍

Hi Stephen,
Could I put in a request that you reinstate the 'comment' tab at the bottom of the posts again, As it was much easer to keep track of what was going on.
I know you still have it on some of the sections.

Len, are you using Chrome?

So far, it looks to be specific to Chrome and Android.

I’m working on it when I get chance to amongst real work 😊

I still do not get the option arrow to view across more than one photo. I have to close the current photo and then open the next photo and repeat this process for each photo posted.

Still having a problem Stephen, that when there are multiple photos' to view, I have to close every one down before I can open a new one, there used to be an arrow on the right and left of the screen where you could switch between photo's , this has disappeared, can you help.

Cheers, Pete

Thanks both. So the ad issue is very odd. I wonder if it’s specific to Safari. I’ll try later.

The photo one is as I suspected too. Without getting techie, it’s something in the JavaScript causing that. It shoouulld gently zoom in, darkening the background, let you swipe left and right, and give you an X in the top corner to go back. I’ll try some other devices here and see if I can replicate it.

Thanks for the screenshots.

Stephen

To answer some of your questions:
First off, I am using an ad blocker, and have no problems with ads popping up
Secondly, I need to appologize about videos. It seemed they took a long time a while back, but I just loaded a couple to test and they loaded lightning fast.
And finally, yes pictures open in a new tab. For a while, there was a button in the upper right corner that said something to the effect "view all", or "open all". That option is gone.
I hope this helps.
Dave B
PS I'm including a screenshot of a picture, but it's just a full screen in a new tab.

Hi Martin,
Besides the micro junk, I have an IMac 27" and have had no problems so far.
I also don't look at this page on my iPhone because I prefer to use my iPad.
You probably have to let the air out of your MacBook Air . . . 😂😂😂😂

Hi Stephen,

This screen shot is a floating Add. (righthand side over the Trending Topics column.)

As fir the photos I click on them and about 5 seconds later they open up in the full screen mode.

And videos are a little slower.
I have looked at my router and and my internet systems and everything seems ok.

Typing this message has a delay when typing.

Well I can feedback on a couple of things mentioned.

Ads in the middle of text and/or floating somewhere strange on the page… I’ve actually little control on this. Whilst most ad placements are in a pre-determined area, Google is able to insert ads wherever it likes on the page too. Sometimes it can be mid text.

Trending on the home page as well as the left side (desktop). This is normal.

Speed… well if videos are slow, I’d imagine it’s your connection more than this site with them streaming from YouTube and not the sites servers.

Typing shouldn’t be slow, this suggests a slow machine or jammy dodger crumbs getting in the keys 😁

I see a couple of mentions on the photos not being able to be scrolled through now. Sounds like I do need to investigate that; photos did get an overhaul. Is it the case that when clicking, the image opens in a whole new window/tab? If anyone can screenshot this, it’d be useful.

Thanks,
Stephen

I am glad I am not the only one.
Are you also getting two Trending areas ?

One Trending Topics on the right hand side of the home page.
And one in the centre called Trending Now.

Also every now and again I get adverts appearing half way in-between the text of some posts.

I am running Windows 10 on a desktop.
Typing hasn't shown any degradation.
However, picture and video loading is quite slow.
AND, there is still the problem where pictures cannot be scrolled through. I have to open on eat a time from the original post.
Just my $0.02 worth.

Hi Guys,
I seem to be having problems with the site.

(1) There seems to be a delay when typing in text when making a comment or posting.

(2) The site seems slow to respond.

(3) Very very slow to view photos and even slower to view video.

I am using an Apple MacBook Air.
I never used to have these problems.

Am I the only member suffering or are others suffering too.

Martin.
