Thank you. We’re in Naples for three months so your sails are a click too far north for me to attend.

Blow up this photo on your screen. You will observe a crocodilian being very careful. Does not want to mess with the 105 recoilless on the bow or the 37mm on the aft deck. Probably too maneuverable for the torpedoes. That boat has a date of anywhere from 1948 -1965 it is currently third on the list for re-motor and shafting. One of my favorites though.

Actually there are a few guys that "sail" there several times a week. I remember in the 1970's they had the AMYA southeast regatta there, well over 30 sailboats (M - 50/800) including some from the UK.

In the almost 50 years I have been sailing there, never had nor heard about gator attacks on boats at this pond! Every once in a while we do see a gator or two swimming around, mostly 6 foot or less.

As to the two models, yes, they are the old Sterlings, Missouri and American Scout. They are recent builds, past few years. Jim, the builder searched and found them (separately) as he wanted the classic challenge. There are close-up photos on the http://ssmbc-fl.org site.

    Hi Lew,

It looks a great pool for sailing scale power models. Maybe not so good for sail boats - especially those with long keels!!
