You and your fellows from L&BMBC are welcome to come and join RMBC.
Yes, the fee is off putting, but it's well worth the expense.
See you again soon.

Better than a day at the seaside. No traffic queues, no kids kicking sand in your face, no sand sticking to everything in sight (as well as things not in sight !).
Whilst at LBMBC we enjoy the vastness of Yeadon Tarn to sail on, we are truly envious of your clubhouse, waterside and facilities.
Many thanks
Buck😉

"What's the difference between a lake and a tarn?
The words 'mere' and 'tarn' come from old Norse words. A mere refers to a lake that is shallow in relation to its size, and can be linked the the Saxon 'mere' that refers to a sea. A tarn is a small mountain lake, and its name is linked to the old Norse word tjörn meaning pond."
Thank Heaven for Google !!
Rawdon Model Boat Club Open Day 10/06/2023
Rawdon MBC is hosting their first Open Day of 2023 on Saturday 10th of June.
Club members will be displaying and operating their model ships and sailing vessels all day from 10AM until 4PM, no matter what the weather!
They sail every class of boat you can think of, including, Trawlers, Tugs, Warships, Cargo ships, Fast Electric Racing boats (note; Internal Combustion Engines not allowed), and Racing Yachts.
You will be sure of a warm welcome at our friendly clubhouse where we have a kitchen, WC’s, lots of boat storage berths and a comfortable social room. But the best view of the lake and the action is from our plentiful outdoor seating. Tea and coffee will be available!
There will be boats available for all interested parties to “have a go”, under the guidance and instruction of the members who own the boats.
There will be boats for sale too!
There has been a model boat club on Larkfield Tarn since 1937. The tarn was built in the 1820’s to provide water for a nearby textile mill but the lake is now owned by Rawdon MBC.
Rawdon MBC is located off Larkfield Road, Rawdon. LS19 6EQ.
Entry is free and there is limited parking on site. See you there!
