Recognition please

Hi Tall Paul
Looks like you have removed the two stays that ran from the platform on the mast to the deck and it looks like another stay runs from the platform to the bow. All would have been steel rope with some form of tightening device at the deck. You could use fine fishing trace but good quality scale rope would look OK. The flag bears the colours of Ukraine and is as others have said a house flag. The halyard will run to a pulley at possibly the back of the mast top and be tied off at the horizontal post on the deck. I agree with Roy that it is some form of service boat and could be Pilot, Customs or coastguard. This is supported by the number of side buffers seen. The internals suggest 1970's era build. Should last another lifetime. Be good to see some on water pics when completed.

Hi all, My part built Lilka has been a free plan for years. About 10 years back a friend who is a collector asked if I would like a kit he had been given. To my surprise it was a just started Lilka made by a Polish company called Telltech. The instructions are in English but not as we know it!

The kit is laser cut very nicely but does not include a deck!! Very little had been done and that not accurately so I started again. The hull is made with the deck in place and a brushless motor fitted.

Fittings are nice in plastic but the cleats are big H ones more suited to tieing up at the quayside. If in metal they would weigh 100 kilos each full size!

The window frames had to be made and they were difficult, they are done now but my interest waned.
Then I stopped, maybe I will start up again!
Regards
Roy

I can't help you ID it either. But ... what a cool boat!

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Paul, that flag looks to me like a merchant marine house flag. I have done a quick search on internet, and can find similar designs, but not in those colours. Maybe someone took the basic design, and then made it their own?

Hi Tall Paul
Not familiar with this particular craft but it has a tripod mast so I suspect the only rigging would be some flag halyards to the mast platform/head. Might have some coiled ropes fore and aft for tying up alongside a deck etc.
Looks a nice model and it would be interesting to see inside the hull
