Getting back to model boats...
Do you build your boats bare-foot in the mud? (I've seen some operate their boats here while barefoot. Haven't seen 🙈 any toe nibbling gators around lately.)

Lewz,

Soles cut out from old tires, you say? 🙄 They got another 5000 Km before for the wear-bar shows😉

Maybe the poor lads with bare feet could not afford the safety sandals. Unbelievable how much the straps protect the top of the feet. The non-slip soles are also helpful.

Who needs PPE and health and safety.
They only increase production costs.

I think I am going to just wear flip flops in my workshop, even when I use machinery.

I wonder what the rate for foot injuries is in a country like that 🤕. Most with bare feet or sandals, one or two people with shoes and one with boots. Hammering the old blades with steel/iron shards flying everywhere. Hard, dirty, and unsafe jobs! Got to hand it to them though...

With those "wobbly" propellers they must have some fantastic u-joints. No Dumas "dog-bones" here!

The speed that prop was spinning for boring/facing was nuts, and no guard! Coulf easily take someone's arm it they were't carefull. As for accuracy I have watched video of huge helical geard being made with the most rudimentary measuring equipment and 100 year old British made lathes borers etc. Or how about welding two halves of an engine block together with just a stick welder and a hand held welding shield. I have seen some of them wearing safety sandals....

Hair-raising and mesmerising😮
Safety standards? What standards?
Machining accuracy? Makes you wonder if the prop was also so wibbly-wobbly out of balance on the ships they were made for.
The connection with 'World's largest ship' escapes me though.
What I have seen of propeller production (at Daewoo Shipbuilding in Geoje, South Korea) for some of the world's really large ships, such as VLCC super tankers (ca 440m LoA, 500,000+ tons DWT), also mesmerised me.
For different reasons. SHEER SIZE!! Some 7m (~23ft) diameter.
Cheers, Doug😎

I have just stumbled upon this, and it is one of the most insane videos I have ever seen. It is interesting to see the process, but wow, the safety standards are so bad it is astonishing.
Cringe and enjoy!
