Lesro models

Hi
They also did a TID Tug, and the much sorted after Atlantic 21 Lifeboat.

That's all right, Mr Ryan. My Morse is so rusty, I could be sending him dimensions on Playmate of the Month.

I think JoTica bought the company and if memory serves Lesro also had HFM as well.
I met Harvey of HFM at an exhibition and he was selling his vacuum formed hulls, I bought the Thames barge with barge boards for £2.00. Later passed on to a friend who built her.
I think he was also selling 575 yachts before they were worked on, re-issued to make them radio controlled. I have a nice one and they sail very well.

I understand Harvey either joined or sold out to Lesro but it was not a happy 'marriage'.
Another thing was when I was at work I came across a Mr. Rowles who was quietly working on a personal project, I think a Stilleto and he was the son. This is what I remember but can't rely on it.

Lesro models

Les Rowell was founder of Lesro Models and chief designer at Aerokits and died in 1992.

A number of well known kits were produced by Lesro including the Stiletto/Rapier and Arrow/Javelin, Sprite and Sportsman with the latter reintroduced in Mk 2 form by SLEC.

The business was sold and you could obtain copies of the kit plans but but you can't do that anymore.

Neat looking kit. I swear I've seen the name of the manufacturer before, but I don't know where. Maybe when I was stationed in Germany in the late 80's. How big is she?

Lesro models

Just bought an old Lesro Sun Tug kit from my local auction house.
Thought I would do a bit of research, but can't find anything about Lesro.
Are they still in business ?
The website takes you to a shop search engine and the only other link is to a model flag seller which also appears to be defunct.
My kit is complete, but I haven't decided whether to build it as it is a bit big for my club's towing competition.
