Managed to fit everything into a large box which I can carry with a padded shoulder strap. Complete set-up weighs more than the box. Boat and trailer clamp down to the box with tabs, and there is a sling which fits under the trailer to get the boat in and out. Whole boat/car set-up is 5ft long, so a job making it compact enough to carry. Easier to carry with 2 people, as it's fairly large (especially at my age ๐)

Now that I have shown the examples of my much more talented club members designs, it's time to show my solution (maybe more in line with the OP's notion of "simple").
I have taken a wheeled Sports Equipment bag, lined with with a PVC frame, and I strap the boat on its base to the bottom of the PVC frame. The bag has wheels and an extendable handle for transport.
Not elegant, but it gets the job done. It has the added benefit of exterior zippered pockets to hold batteries, etc.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Hey all! Very good ideas! Thanks for all your tips! As I don't set up all my boats and keep the rest on a rack in my โworkshopโ, I will create a closed version of each. It is important that they are kept away from dust. Sliding cover, folding versions . .simply brilliant ideas. Thank you! Bb Michel-C.

All of my boats travel in a custom made simple lightweight carry box. They are built of thin plywood with a frame like a crate to keep the weight down. They make it really simple to handle the models

Depends on what you mean by "boat storage/transport case". The range is from lightweight & simple to keep dust out when on the shelf, to bulletproof professional joinery for airlines handling. Somewhere in between I have seen examples of cases, with for example hand cut dovetails, that were intended in some large degree to show off the woodworking skills of the maker. -Marty-

Doorskins are an inexpensive source of 1/8" mahogany plywood. They typically measure 24-30" wide, 7ft long. I got mine at a HOME HARDWARE Building Centre. They are not marine grade which would guarantee that they have no voids within the Plies, but I have used these for years for many different types of woodworking projects and I have never encountered a Troublesome void yet

Again, not mine. But here are a couple more examples of transport cases belonging to fellow club members. The two on the right have recessed handles on the top, so they can be stacked. The top lifts off leaving the boat in it's cradle on the base.
