The majority of RC equipment is Chinese, some very good, some not so.

Did you get or are you able to download a manual for it?

    Hi
This is my two pennies worth,
I have always worked on the principle that the yellow is the Pos and the blue is the Neg and go to the motor, on some not all motors you may see a red dot next to the terminal this is the Pos side of the motor, if you look at a three pin plug the blue is the Neg,
As to what is a male connector or what is a female connector that is easy, a male always goes into a female

I hope these other pointers can help you label all your cables.
If you don't know how to distinguish female connectors from male ones, don't worry.
If you want you can post a photo of your Esc and we could repost it with captions on each cable. I believe we would be able to do it, at least we will try.

However to date I have not seen any manufacturer use the thick yellow and green cables for the battery side.
If the ESC has large yellow and green cables (even more so with female bullet connectors) I would bet that those should be connected to the motor.

Hi StephenT, I agree with what Bobby and, more importantly, Chris said.
Correct and precise information in my opinion.

I can add a detail that might be useful to you.
The connectors that go to the motor, since they supply current with invertible polarity, (unlike the red and black ones which draw current from the battery with pre-established fixed polarity) are female.
This is to prevent short circuits from accidental contact.
So (barring assembly errors, which are quite rare and unusual) the big cables with female connectors go to the motor. Most of the time I'm bullet type.
Most often, but not always, the battery cable connectors are Tamiya.

The three wires (which come out of the BEC of the ESC) and are used to receive commands from the receiver and power it at the same time are much thinner and have typical connectors (compatible with the pinouts of the receivers).

The question is not stupid. "Itโ€™s the wires to the motor that are blue and yellow but what one is what as the yellow is next to the negative" confuses me a bit.
Are you talking about 3 wires? Are you using a language translator?

As said, you need to provide more information. We are trying to help but we are having to guess to some extent as to what you are asking and want to know.

In my case I Googled the Viper Marine ESCs (is yours one of theirs?) and downloaded the manual. In addition to what I said it states that the Blue = Motor negative and Yellow = Motor positive.

But this may be different from manufacturer to manufacturer and hence why we need to know what yours is!

If you get the blue and yellow the wrong way round nothing bad will happen apart from the motor running the opposite way though brushed motors can run one way better than the other.
