The link to Miniatur Wunderland. https://www.miniatur-wunderland.com/?_gl=1*1jh62lh*_up*MQ..*_ga*NDEzMzMxNzc5LjE3NDcwMTU0OTQ.*_ga_QD4ZHC411D*czE3NDcwMTU0OTMkbzEkZzAkdDE3NDcwMTU0OTMkajAkbDAkaDA.*_ga_JGD7L3SF5T*czE3NDcwMTU0OTMkbzEkZzAkdDE3NDcwMTU0OTMkajAkbDAkaDA.

Will probably take hours to explore. Scroll far enough & you will find a section where the technology is disclosed

The Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg is definitely worth a visit. 👍
It is constantly being expanded.
I only live 1 hour away.
I think I'll have to go there again sometime.

Hi to you both Miniatur Wunderland is the best I ever seen before or since. I went maybe 15 years ago it was when the airport was first opened.

Our son flew in from Sydney he was lecturing in Germany and he sent me an air ticket I had to print out and we met at Hamburg airport. We spent a weekend there as there is so much to see as a tourist in the port. If you go, give yourself at least 3 full days.
I expect it has moved on a lot since so would not object to another visit!

I shall have to drop hints for when he is next in Germany. In fact not a bad idea at all!

If you are ever in Hamburg, be sure to include a visit to Miniatur Wunderland. Absolutely incredible automation of all sort of subjects. I would have loved to been able to access the control room but it’s not open to visitors.

Roy,
Yes Adam was one of the two original "stars" of Myth Busters. He has a channel on YouTube that he shoots in his "cave" and addresses all sorts of issues. Quite fun and tons of idea.
Jump I envy you!😊😊😊

I spent 38 years in Hollywood feature film post production. It literally took 18 months to transition from analog to digital. And then the marriage of mechanical elements with digital vfx was incredible to see. The genius is astounding, especially with the folks who write code. By the time I retired I became convinced that there was nothing that could not be created; the possibilities are both fascinating and scary.

As an interesting aside, a number of artists and engineers I knew who had tons of experience with lasers and code ended up getting quite wealthy working for military contractors.
Thanks for posting this TD!

Hi is the guy in the black Tee shirt from Myth Busters?

I go back to the late 50's and many of the (always larger) model boats were for carrying radio control and to 'automate' the boat. The models were often very basic considering today's standards. But the builder's interest was really remote control, not ship modelling. As the years go by I wonder what will be done next.

At a Model railway exhibition maybe 5/6 years ago the 'must see' model railway layout had the usual town scene with the railway as it fitted in. The big draw (at just 1 ; 87) scale was a lone man on a bicycle just cycling on his own along the road, with no apparant support.
Also having seen a 4mm to the foot grab crane fully working with picking up and depositing into a lorry, things are getting miniaturised now to a level thought impossible before.
I met a guy doing a military project to produce a miniature drone, It is long enough ago to make it a generation older than current technology. I helped him resolve a brushless motor problem and introduced him to miniature servos, smaller than 5 gram. He had a flying (beating wings) drone that sits easily on the palm of your hand.

Perhaps animated crew will be our next 'must have' on our models. My current favourite is the teddy bear on Bearospace model yachts. Gary is to be congratulated on the way it shows off his models.

I have watched a wonderful video on Adam Savage's YouTube channel and I thought that so much of it applies to many of the challenges we face.
All to often, I find myself over engineering a solution to a problem and this video brings me right back to the KISS principal.
