After several months of restoring and reworking every component possible, here are the final results.

I hope you guys enjoy it—I sure enjoyed bringing it back to life!

Last time I asked the Production Manager about this model, he said it was out of production, but I’ve still seen a few listed on eBay.

Practically every component of the model required refinishing and re-securing.
The hose straps had been painted incorrectly, so I stripped them back and refinished them to replicate a more accurate leather appearance, including proper coloration and texture.
Even the seat required a complete teardown, surface prep, and full refinishing to bring it back to spec.

This is a refurbishing job that Model Expo assigned to me because it will be one of the models exhibited at the Vegas Model Table Top Show.
It’s an incredibly intricate piece—packed with what feels like a billion parts—and it’s heavy.
This particular model is the one we originally received from Ken Foran, our designer, and over the years it’s been a bit neglected.

It’s traveled to multiple shows, taken some bumps along the way, and they couldn’t find anyone locally who was able to bring it back to life.
So I accepted the endeavor.

To get the proper copper color, I used these paints and applied them with the airbrush.
A lot of time went into carefully masking off the model to prevent overspray. I also had to spray very gently so that when the tape was removed, it wouldn’t lift or damage any of the parts underneath.
