Great minds think alike Ron, I also installed an old cooker hood above a bench area which is exhausted to the outside. I use it for brazing ,soldering, spraying and any other smelly jobs😝

My shop too is in the basement. The room according to the house plan was to be the laundry area. It has a plastic laundry tub in one corner, hot and cold water taps, and a vented pipe to the outside for the clothes dryer.
I went to a recycling shop and bought a stove range exhaust hood, installed it and exhausted it out the dryer vent. This allows me to do soldering, some types of finishes that required ventilation. The exhaust fan has multiple speeds and the light two settings.

If we put a trailer on the back of a bike can we take our boats to the lake, and walk round it for excercise, or is this reserved for the P.M.?πŸ‘ŽπŸ€ž

Here in Michigan (Northern mid-west USA) our winter is mitigated a bit by being surrounded by the Great Lakes. My workshop is in the basement. Keeps all the paints and such warm. But the wife says no to any spray painting indoors, so any large painting projects wait until spring. Have managed to run small bits outside as long as it's not raining or snowing and above freezing, it seems to work. The price we pay for domestic tranquility 😊

You are so lucky to have your workshops all nice and cosy, all within reach of refreshments.
    Keep safe.

I'm very fortunate to have 2 of my workshops within the house, my engineering workshop is in the basement which is centrally heated and my modelling workshop is on the fourth floor of the house which is half of an area I share with my good lady who has her sowing room up there again the warmest rooms in the house.
However my garage which is my car mechanics workshop is absolutely freezing and not to be ventured into in winter
