First launch for three boats

Thanks Rick, Balsam Lake Provincial Park has a large roped off section of shoreline for swimming which makes it nice RC boating, just get there early in the day. After 12 noon, it became much busier, but most kids and adults respected “my space” many taking videos my wife said.

There were two high school age girls who were oblivious to the sailboat coming and entered the water only 5’ from it! Glad it was not sailing fast, or the splashing would have required some quick action.🤓

Think your Wianno yacht is a very pretty little boat. That high peaked gaff mainsail suits her so well. Lovely lines too. Would like to see more of your Dragon sailing, have quite an affection for the full size version.

Yes, the water got busier with swimmers and kids after 1 p.m. so best to go in the morning to have uninterrupted water. The rudder issue discussed earlier this week was not an issue 😎

A couple of short video clips. The claxon horn is set-up to sound when doing a turn to Port.

Further to my comment Martin, the Dragen does not come about as it should, the Wianno Senior had the same issue. But, after I lengthened the rudder by 1/2” or so, the Wianno now is very responsive. I plan to change the Dragen rudder too.

The Wianno also has a deeper keel than the actual sailboat and I raised the boom shortening the sail area. Yesterday was the best experience yet since making those alterations. It’s sailing attitude resembles the actual one now.

Sailing ⛵️ as it requires more attention to the elements. It can be a challenge to keep it moving to the direction you wish to sail.

Great boat transporter Ron - looks like you were having fun with some very nice boats . Especially good to see someone out and about after all these wretched lockdown's. SA is back at level 3 again.

Lucky your wife came with - most avoid boat outings like the current pandemic.........

Made out to Balsam Lake Provincial Park today where the waters are clear, great for launching three new vessels today.
Beamsville, Loganville, Dragen sailboat, Miss Katherine tugboat, Wianno Senior "Catharine" sailboat.

I pitched the beach umbrella so my wife Catharine could keep cool, read, take photos, and be security guard when my back was turned.
