Brushless motor problem

The yellow one is the one I purchased. Followed the instructions posted here and IT WORKS! Now I need to decide if I want to mount it into an old K&O outboard or make an airboat/camera boat. But at least now it works. Thanks to all of you for the help.

If this yellow one is yours, it has a 5v 2A BEC, so you should be able to pug it in to the throttle channel of your ESC. Takes max 3s LiPo. If you are using a LiPo, you will need to set it to the LiPo setting. Should work on the set-up instructions .

Are you using the bec to power your receiver?
If not you have to disconnect , I think the middle wire of the esc.
Someone will confirm if this is correct.

The photo shown isn't of my ESC. This is the unit I bought

Brushless motor problem

Looking at your ESC pic there is no red wire as there is no BEC. Designed to plug into a drone multi controller it is possible that that unit provides the rx power, and will have a common earth (neg). The ESC requires a black neg wire and a white signal wire. If you are using a battery there is no common connection between the ESC battery and the rx battery neg. It may be built into the ESC wiring but this might be your problem.

Interesting suggestion.can you recommend on for brushless motors and ESCs?
Thanks - could do with one myself

You should invest in a simulator. It makes fault finding so much easier.
Eliminating the need for the rx and tx .

Brushless motor problem

I've printed out the firs page and will attempt to set the ESC tomorrow sometime. Your help (as always - is appreciated).
It seems brushed motors (except for RFI issues) are a lot simpler to set up. Thanks again, and I let you know what happens.

Re It's not plugged in to the battery port - That's one of the first things I checked - made that mistake before...

Sounds like you have plugged the ESC into the battery channel on the rx as your motors are exhibiting a no signal message.

Hi PP, if your ESC looks like the pics,(for aircraft forward control only) try setting it like this - (first pic), make sure you have your throttle CH reversed (Futaba TXs ) before you start. If ESC is different, a pic would help. Make sure you secure your motor while doing this (no props) You need the motor attached to hear the signals.

The receiver is an older Fatuba 2 channel TX and RX. I wonder if that's not the problem...

It's a Ready to sky 30th model. It came with the Young motor. I bought 2 motors with 2 ESCs as a package deal on-line through Amazon.

Hi PP,
without a bit more info it's difficult to help with your problem 🤔
Above all; which ESC, brand & model number, and TX/RX are you using with your new brushless motor?
Cheers, Doug 😎
Young at heart 😉 Slightly older in other places.😊 Cheers Doug

Brushless motor problem

Just purchased two A 2212 brushless motors and can't get either one of them to run. I've tried both of them and all I get is three beeps when powering up and then constant beeping from the motor. I checked all the connections and a servo plugged into the receiver works fine. Any thoughts?
