" Elsa ", is a steam dredge barge built by Buxton Model Boat Club member Dean Ratcliffe.
She is roughly 1.24 scale, approximately 43 inches by 8 inches and is made from recycled and up cycled materials wherever possible. She has a single rudder and propeller, powered by a single motor from a drill, and two 6v lead acid batteries. She is a totally freelance design.

Thanks for the advice Ken, I will pass on to Barry.
I know Windstar sails like she is on rails under right conditions / sails and setup .
With the Robbe brand name behind her, she has a real feeling of presence and quality on the water - wish she was mine !

Hi Martin ,ref Juno - here is a response from our club member Dean who built "Juno"

Juno is quite a basic flat bottomed boat, mainly due to my very basic modelling skills, and is intended to be a bunkers barge. She is roughly 1.24 scale, approximately 43 inches by 8 inches and is made from recycled and up cycled materials wherever possible. She has a single rudder and propeller, powered by a single motor from a drill, and two 6v lead acid batteries.
She is a totally freelance design, but I took inspiration from Humber barges such as the Humber Princess, which I used as a rough plan for the deck layout.

Vosper RTTL at OXFORD
This very large Vosper RTTL was active at the Oxford Model Boat Club open day on the 7th July. At aprox 6 feet long, it is the work of Terry Gregory (hull and electronics) and Paul Izzard( superstructure). It is a spectacular performer and beautifully finished though the enormous wake means that it is normally run solo on the water.
