About this boat

Yes dear friends . .
once again I received something from an old buddy. He had found this in his father's cellar and thought of me.
I'm delighted to have one more boat corpse, much to my wife's chagrin. But I was able to get her on board to help me later.
Honestly, he's worse off than the sternwheeler. . .
A quick check of the hull and then take good care of it.
I'm sure we'll have time one day, maybe even with my grandsons
More to follow, give me time because first comes the stern wheel steamer. I would like to christen it next spring on its maiden voyage . . .
Read you soon,
Michel-C.

    Hi friends!
Unfortunately, I had to scrap this boat. The work involved would have been an absolute nightmare.
Sadly, the hull had quite a few cracks. Sure, I could have reinforced it with fiberglass matting, but the superstructure had been botched so badly that it almost brought tears to my eyes.
How could anyone do something like that... oh, why am I getting so worked up!
I do have the plans, after all, so I can build it myself.
This morning, a fellow club member let me know that he has a semi-finished unit of the same type he could give me as a replacement...
    Now I have hope again...
Now I’ll just wait and see; after all, I have to get the Müritz seaworthy with my grandson.
    a bit sad, yours Michel-C.

    Hey Roy,
As far as the drive is concerned, I haven't had a close look at the whole thing yet. I'll catch up and report back to you,
    see you Michel-C

Hi The Mike, I have a partly made Bugsier 3 on the back burner. The kit came out in 1974 so the model could be 50 years old! The hull is the first model boat hull moulded from plura plastic. I think this is an ABS plastic, glues up from the same solvents anyway.

As far as I know this very popular kit has never had a build review in either of the then 2 Model Boat magazines.

What is the drive motor in your model? Looks like a Marx Luder possibly Decaperm with a pile gearbox?

All the best with the model.
